What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Captivate 2019 – Breakpoint mode text responsiveness

We are testing converting our projects from Captivate 8 & 2017 to Captivate 2019. We currently use Break point mode for all our modules, this is our preferred method. We know the settings for responsive text need to be set at auto, % in order to “be responsive. We have no problem with our other versions, however in Captivate 2019. The feature of auto, % for text just does not seem to be working. Simply put, the text is not shrinking, […]

Can’t view html5 files from web server

I’ve uploaded 3 html5 modules created in Captivate and upgraded to Captivate 2019 to our web server in preparation for internal review.  My creative director used the path to provide a link to reviewers, as he generally does with other projects, but the URL created from the path doesn’t work. Any suggestions? Thanks much in advance!

Publish Captivate 2019 Module to the Web

I need to publish my responsive module and post it to my school’s Black Board site. I’ve watch numerous help videos and read many posts about this, and they all walk me through the same process: publish to device, create a zip file, then upload it here to this site, then provide the link to my professor via Black Board. I have followed these steps, but the zip file will not upload. I get a message that says “Invalid File […]

I’m creating an intro video to my software course and need some advice

Hi There Captivate, and elearning in general, is new to me so I am looking for all tips possible here! I am doing an introductory video for an online course I am developing. This video includes some animations, done in Adobe Animate (as I explain what the software package can do) and then I move onto some screen capture clips whilst I give a brief description of each lesson topic. So I have an animation, converted to a video clip, […]

Loop animation 3/3: animating characters with cycles like in cartoons

This article describes how we can make animations with Captivate 2019 and 2017 by using cycles of picture as we do it in cartoons. Instead of using the Captivate Effects panel to animate pictures we use each state of a multi-state object as frame. It represents another way to make Captivate animations and can be helpful for people who are interested to animate a character (human or animal) in its different phases.

Bookmark in Interactive Video for Captivate 2017

Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to create a bookmark in an interactive video using Captivate 2017? I know that Adobe Captivate 2019 allows you to add bookmarks to interactive videos–where after completing a certain action, a user is redirected to a particular part in a video. However, I wasn’t sure if this option was available in Captivate 2017? Or, if there was an alternative way to accomplish the same effect in Adobe 2017?

Hotspots in Interactive Video

Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew if Adobe Captivate 2019 allows you to add hotspots in interactive videos? I know that you are able to add hotspots in virtual reality or 360 Videos. However, can you add hotspots in interactive videos that have been uploaded via you tube or via your computer. For example, imagine that you wanted to include a more information icon for 5 seconds in the middle of a video. When users click on the information […]
