What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Learning Interaction dialogue box bug?

I’m running the updated Captivate CC 2019.  Certain learning interactions do not allow me to scroll to the bottom of the configuration screen.  Thus, I can’t save my configuration settings.  Have to use ESC key to exit the interaction and it does not add to the timeline. Having this problem with Carousel and Bulletin.

Answer Advanced Action NOT working…

I see when I make the slides that the advanced options are filled in but it does not jump to the selected slide when the answer is incorrect.  It just goes to the next question..

Captivate 2019: Analyzing Quiz Results in Aggregate

Hi Everyone, A few clients of mine are very interested in the functionality of interactive video and the ability to generate quantitative objective data via quiz reporting. However, some of them do not have an LMS, and are asking if there is a way to collect the quiz results for the whole team (rather than on an individual basis) with the intent of generating data that shows the teams improvement as a whole over time. I was thinking that this […]

Removing sound of mouse click before recording

Is it possible to set this prior to recording? At the moment, have to edit each mouse click to remove sound.

Captivate won’t record mouse click

I’d been using Captivate to record screen steps for months and recently, I have several issues with the mouse clicks are not recorded, my current solution is to restart PC and restart captivate, but it’s getting annoying. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. any suggestion that I can do to solve this issue? Thanks. Best regards, Claudia K.

mp4 file limitation in captivate, stop after 10 mp4 files

I have 12 mp4 files in the captivate 2017 Project (10.0.0.192) inserted as progressive-download-video on 12 different pages. I have imported the Scorm-Output in an LMS (Moodle). When i randomly view 10 Pages with this mp4 Content than the 11. page with mp4-Content is not shown. The Video does not run, there is a black page. Only the video-control bar is shown, nothing else. The files are between 3 – 18 MB, produced with edius and encoded with adobe media […]

Video playback on mobile

When a video file in a course is played on mobile, it automatically goes to full screen mode. this is confusing for the users, as they experience this as losing the navigation buttons? Is it possible to avoid the phone browser going to full screen mode?

Software Sim manual recording on Mac not working

Cannot perform manual software simulation screen capture

First Attempt at Using Captivate

Storyboard of my first captivate project. The content will be populated based on this progression. In the current form, it is the framework of an eLearning experience to teach individuals about streaming video games using Twitch and Streamlabs+OBS. I am looking into making interactive images, videos, and simulations about the setup and controls of the different software. I am looking for quick hit tutorials on adding interactive appear/disappear information to various mediums to take it from the text/video sit and get to a more exploratory experience.

The big component I haven’t found yet was looking to see if there is a way to track simulation clicks like a passive quiz, as in “how many times were components clicked by users before the right button in the software simulation was selected?” Not sure if this is a feature or not to gain passive information on potential learning gaps.
