Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
After the first articles about Object Styles as pillars of any Theme, and the use of the Object Style Manager in general, this third article offers tips for the creation of object styles for a responsive project with Fluid Noxes, and for object styles in the Breakpoints workflow.
To have live Mobile preview, you must have mobile and your pc(cp project) on the same network(accessing same router/hotspot …).
There are mainly two different approaches in making any responsive project. One is “Breakpoint mode” and other is using “Fluid boxes”. And the biggest problem is that we can use ONLY any one feature in our project. I know Fluid box is the latest feature and everyone use it. But I would like to know Pro and Cons of both features. Example, “Break point mode” gives us control for mainly there screen sizes(although we can add more), while “Fluid box” […]
I Placed 5 MP4 video’s wihtin an elearning that I’m building. 2 video’s are visible when viewing the eLearning on the iPad and 3 are not shown. Does anybody know how this is possible? I’m using MP4 and choose Progressive download. All 5 video’s are saved with the same settings and are NOT on auto play.
What is the recommended suggestion to remove any background noises created by keyboard and/or mouse during a recording? Option 1: I would like to just buy hardware that is silent, there is plenty of choices out there. Option 2: My supervisor is inquiring about recording the visual part and the audio part independently and put them together after. I have not done the latter of the two and feel that is much more work than needed? Any suggestions or thoughts […]

Using Windows 10 and Adobe Captivate 2019 While creating a virtual reality slide if you place a hotspot and use the DISPLAY TEXT action, you get a green check mark once the hotspot is clicked. If you change the action of the hotspot to JUMP TO SLIDE, you don’t get the green check mark once it has been clicked. I am trying to let the user know what they have and have not clicked. How do I get check marks […]
This is the last part in Drag-n-Drop. Because of more images are used, it may take time to load… (reloaded after editing…) Hope, I upload technical details in my blog very soon.
I am using Captivate 2017. Previously when I recorded a demo simulation, Captivate would record each click of my mouse as a separate slide I could edit. I recently had a system administrator run the updates for the application and now when I record it only captures when I use a key on my board. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
When trying to access eLearning assets, the page is blank. Is the program trying to access a specific website? If yes, what is the site URL?
I hope someone can help me! I recorded a demo and am making adjustments to it. I have an issue with one slide where a pop-up menu is supposed to appear. It does appear, but not until the very last second of the slide. I need this to be the focus of this slide but don’t want to have to record a new demo. Is there a way to adjust the timing so I don’t have to re-record the demo?
Hi, Is there a way to only give learners an option to review the quiz if they have passed it? If they fail they see a button to retake the quiz. Many thanks for any input. Alex
