Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
I have an 8 question challenge. Each challenge is one slide and each slide has 1 correct hotspot. I need to assign 10 points to each correct hotspot and the running total needs to display on each of the 8 slides. If a learner answers every question correctly (clicks on each of the 8 correct hotspots), then at the end, they will receive 80 points total. How do I connect the “Correct hotspot” to the 10 points and then to […]

Hi, I created a custom mute/unmute button. I tried cpCmndMute as well as cpCmndVolume. I even tried the 2 in one script. The problem is that I can mute the audio on the timeline but it does not mute audio triggered from a button click (Play Audio command) Other than stopping the triggered audio, is there a way to mute this as well? It seems to work if the triggered audio is not already playing and you click the […]

Hello, I am a new user to Adobe Captivate 2017 Release 10.0.1.285. I have inserted a variable ($$cpQuizInfoStudentName$$) on a full-page certificate at the end of a Quiz. I need to also have a second wallet-size certificate with the same information but I want to enter it manually. It appears that the variable from the first certificate is automatically entered on the next slide and I don’t know how to turn it off so that I can enter it manually.
I’m looking to interact with users who are new to Adobe Captivate to understand how they use Captivate and receive feedback on how we can further enhance the product experience. I am using Adobe Captivate 2017 Release 10.0.1.285. I have created a certificate to be printed by the user once they complete/pass the Quiz. I have included the variable of $$cpInfoCurrentDateString$$ as the Date of Issue. I need to put an expiry date on a certificate as well but it needs to be 3 years out from the date of issue. Is this also possible? Can you help me with the coding? I am a new user so I do […]
Hi all, I’m recently working with Captivate and tried recording some videodemos but I was a little bit disappointed about the quality. So I tried to improve the quality by looking at the presettings and the settings for publishing. All I could find for videodemos in the presettings was the Video Color Mode. In the publishing settings I experimented with the settings but the results were still unsatisfying. Is there any chance to improve the quality of videodemos while recording?

Performance Support Tools (PSTs) can add a significant amount of value to an organization’s learning strategy. They provide an option for employees to learn and work at the same time and help organizations reduce the cost of training while increasing productivity and performance. It is increasingly being used to extend discrete, formal training through a learning path that provides these assets within the learner’s workflow. These tools, unlike training, are available to employees while they actually do their jobs to […]
