What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Creating Custom Themes: Tips & Takeaways

Earlier this month, I gave a presentation on Creating Custom Themes at our local Adobe Captivate User Group. As I was going through the step-by-step process of creating a theme, I found myself reflecting on my experience over the years – what worked, what didn’t work, and how to save time. In this article, I will share some of those lessons learned – as opposed to the step-by-step technique of creating a theme.

Wireframe Podcast

I’ve found a great podcast that should be right up everyone’s alley. It’s called Wireframe which is co-created by Gimlet Media and Adobe. It’s less to do with eLearning and more to do with what you traditionally think about interaction and interface design. I believe there are many episodes in the series that cross over into our world of eLearning.

Printing feature with Fluid Boxes not displaying slides properly

Problem with printing to Word when course created with fluid boxes.

Audio Error: You have reached the minimum time for slide 2

I have imported an audio file that i need to break up across my slides.  I am trying to drag the marker for slide three to the 19 second mark, but receive an error “You have reached the minimum time for slide 2” and it will not let me drag it in.  Slide 2 has only 3 seconds assigned to it and this drag would make it about an 8 second slide…..why is it not letting me drag the markers […]

Help! Text Captions in Captivate not capturing name of what I am clicking on

I am a new Captivate user and I am trying to record a software simulation of our software, which is web based.  As i navigate through the clicks, my text caption boxes insert, but Captivate does not capture the name of what I am clicking on.  Instead of inserting a text caption that says “Click File”, it will say “Click”.  I manually have to go in and add the text to each text caption and resize the box.  This is […]
