What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Swapping buttons loses hand cursor

I’ve tried both Smart Shapes and Buttons with the same result. I have two buttons (play and pause) and the same Shared Action is attached to them. When the play button is pressed it hides and shows the pause button, the same Shared Action performs the action in reverse to the pause button. Hand cursor is checked for both buttons. The play/pause function works on the side but after one or two clicks, the hand cursor no longer appears over […]

Hi there again,  Sorry another newbie question I’m afraid: How do I get text onto the screen so that it appear letter by letter, or word by word to coincide with my voiceover? I can do it in other software (including PPT) but I cannot seem to find how to do this in captivate. Many Thanks Dave

Sample Virtual reality Project

This is Virtual reality project created with sample 360 image. Main differenace between simple image & 360 image is, in 360 image, a viewer can get lot more information about the sitution. BUT at the same time, he/she will need to take effort to see in all possible direction to get information. So it is more on the viewer how much he/she is catching information from all directions. On that basis, this project is on checking viewer’s  ‘Observation Power & […]

How to delete Typing Text in Captivate 2019?

I have been tasked with updating a Captivate Course.  The course on a slide used a typing text on a layer.  I can not select to get properties, or delete the object.  I can lock and hide, but I really want to delete entirely. It looks like a bug, but wanted to see if any other users came across the same issue. Thank you, Lawrence

Problem publishing tutorial output to my computer

I have just purchased Captivate 2019 and I am busy with the tutorials. The first one is about LUNARSHPERE STUDIOS. I have followed the tutorial to the letter, but hit a “wall” with the publishing. I get an error every time. I don’t know if it is relevant but it appears that “/assets” is automatically added to the title when publishing. Could this be the problem? See the three screensho ts attached. Thanks in advance.
